The BMW E-Series Short Shifter by RTD Motorsports is engineered to fit E30, E36 (including E36 M3), E46 (including E46 M3), E8X (135i), E9X (335i / M3), E60 M5 and BMW Z4 (E-Series) chassis. Designed for precision and durability, this billet aluminum short shifter delivers a firm, mechanical feel with effortless self-centering and rapid, confident shifts — without cutting the center console or drilling the transmission tunnel.

For E8X and E9X (335i / 135i) models, DSSR selection is required based on your transmission option.
For E30, E36 and E46 chassis, the OEM linkage can be retained. However, upgrading to a DSSR is recommended for maximum shifting precision and reduced play.
This version is designed as a non-locking short shifter (no reverse lockout mechanism).

Fantastic shifter, easy installation. Went exactly as expected. The only thing I needed to do was shave some trim away from my car. E63 chassis requires some interior trim to be shaved down for the nut that holds the spring to fit. Feels incredible to operate, best mod I’ve done so far. I have E63 M6 and wanted to see if E9X M3 DSSR works, it does not. This is totally fine as I knew there was a chance it wouldn’t work. It’s far too short compared to E6X M.
